Senior Consultant - Truth Futures

Practice Area: Truth Futures

Office Location: London/Hybrid

Contract: Full Time

Reporting to:

Dr Bridget Dalton, Head of Truth Futures

Role Purpose

The Senior Consultant in Truth Futures plays a central role in delivering futures-led work that helps clients act on the future now — inspiring change, visualising the future, and creating commercial advantage for ambitious brands around the world.

This is a hands-on position for someone who wants to play a role in shaping the future for clients, as well as shaping what Truth Futures stands for and building this growing offer at Truth Consulting, making our “future is now” proposition famous.

You will lead projects from start to finish, working closely with colleagues across Truth Futures, Truth Intelligence, and our qualitative and quantitative teams to turn cultural signals into insights that support real decisions.

The role suits someone who is curious about how the world is changing, immerses themselves in cultural data and signals every day, someone who is sceptical of easy answers, and motivated by doing work that genuinely helps people think differently and ahead.

Our role is not helping clients follow trends, it is helping  them shape the future and lead change.

General Role Responsibilities

  • Owning futures-led projects from brief through to final delivery, with responsibility for direction, pace and quality.

  • Making sure projects are well organised, well run and delivered on time and on budget together with our Futures project producer.

  • Taking responsibility for the work — spotting issues early, addressing them, and asking for support when needed.

  • Being rigorous and creative at every stage, from early thinking to final outputs.Working with futures methods.

  • Delivering work across Truth Futures’ core approaches, including trends and DISRUPTIONS, semiotics, changemaker engagement, and unstructured data, working closely with our data specialists.

  • Using trends as a route into foresight — not as surface pattern-spotting, but as signals of deeper shifts in behaviour, values, power and systems.

  • Using semiotics to decode meaning — how language, symbols and narratives shape behaviour, belief and brand worlds.

  • Bringing changemaker perspectives into futures work, grounding foresight in lived experience and real-world experimentation.[1]

  • Using unstructured data to sense emerging patterns at scale, combining cultural intuition with evidence, working closely with Truth Intelligence.

  • Blending futures thinking with qualitative and quantitative research from the outset, building joined-up thinking rather than parallel workstreams.

  • Helping improve how futures work is done at Truth — refining methods, building tools, and making our thinking clearer and easier to use.

  • Collaborate with our lovely colleagues across the Paritee network of comms and pr agencies spotting opportunities for how Truth Futures can add value to predicting reputational risk, shape narratives and build trust for corporate comms and brand building across the network and geographic footprint

Turning foresight into action

  • Turning complexity into clear, structured insight and recommendations that clients can actually use.

  • Writing and presenting with clarity and confidence — avoiding jargon, overclaiming or unnecessary complexity.

  • Bringing a consultative mindset: helping clients move from insight to “what next”.

  • Working closely with Truth Studio to create impactful outputs – scenarios, videos, strategic tool kits workshop stimulus form futures work.

Thought Leadership and Profile

  • Contributing to Truth Futures thought leadership through writing, opinion pieces and short-form content.

  • Sharing thinking-in-progress as well as finished work, helping make the Futures offer visible and relevant.

  • Being present on LinkedIn in a way that feels thoughtful and authentic — engaging with cultural moments, sharing insight, and amplifying the work of others.

  • Supporting the promotion of Truth Futures through talks, events, client sessions or industry platforms where appropriate.

Working as part of the team

  • Working collaboratively across Truth, sharing updates, learning and ideas openly.

  • Supporting more junior colleagues through guidance, feedback and example.

  • Taking a one-firm approach to work — prioritising what’s best for the client and the agency, not just individual projects.

Progression

This role provides a clear pathway towards Associate Director, through deeper expertise, greater responsibility for projects and people, stronger commercial awareness, and increased contribution to thought leadership and the growth of Truth Futures.
